MVA Induced TMJ Craniofacial PainThis patient was sent to our office by her physical medicine doctor, who gave up trying to cure her headaches. She was in a car accident (MVA) 2 years before we saw her. Her headaches started a year after the accident.We did nothing for her...except cure her problem. Her main issue was that she was not able to sleep due to large tonsils. Uncontrolled Hyperactivity induced by MVAAlthough it was never an issue before the accident, the trauma induced a state of hyperactivity in her nervous sytem and she was not able to sleep properly. Add large tonsils to her problem and she was having a hard time getting oxygen during sleep.Our ENT surgeon removed her tonsils and once she started sleeping better her problems went away. Many people snore and sleep poorly yet they do not realize how much it affects their health until a traumatic event sets them over the edge and an underlying defect is brought to the surface by the unfortunate circumstance. Actually, for this lady her accident was a blessing in disguise. As she stated: "I have never felt better in my life! I have more energy now and I feel 20 years younger.
